Memorial Tribute to Firefighter Marine Killed in Iraq
Sergeant Brian Dunlap was a both a firefighter and a member of the United States Marine Corps. He tragically died on September 24, 2005 in Al Taqaddum, Iraq when an improvised explosive device detonated during combat. Recently, Sgt. Dunlap’s firefighter and military uniforms were inducted into the San Diego Hook and Ladder Firehouse Museum and a scholarship was established in his name during a memorial celebration at the historic museum.(cont. on site)

Guilty Verdict in Raymond Lee Oyler Arson Murder Trial

Raymond Lee Oyler has been convicted of arson and murder for the deaths of five U.S. Forest Service firefighters who were overcome while fighting the Esperanza Fire and on several counts of arson and using an incendiary device for several other California wildfires in 2006. A jury of eight women and four men deliberated for six days and issued their verdict in the Riverside Hall of Justic Courtroom of Superior Court Judge W. Charles Morgan on Friday, March 6th.
